LMU Mentoring

The Faculty of History and the Arts’ programme for the strategic support of outstanding early-career researchers

Supporting Emerging Scholars at the Faculty of History and the Arts

The LMU Mentoring Programme of the Faculty of History and the Arts supports the academic career development of early-career researchers, with a particular emphasis on addressing structural disadvantages. It is therefore primarily aimed at groups that still remain underrepresented in academic leadership positions. The initial funding period is two years, with the possibility of a one-year extension.

The programme provides close mentoring and structured support through measures designed to strengthen mentees in pursuing an academic career, including:

  • Close, personal interaction between mentors and mentees
  • Workshops and coaching sessions
  • Support for individual initiatives
